First-aid-kit-Ics9-sxcWhen mishap happens around us, in the wake of that uproar most people tend to forget that an Emergency needs to be dealt with a stable state of mind. Panic leads to enhancement of problems and what most people tend to forget that in case of a medical emergency the first aid treatment provided a person might help him in the longer run and amplifies the chances of healing early and in extreme cases the savior of life of an individual. Children no doubt are taught at school how to prepare a first aid box and most of the home even offices need to have that preparation so that any mishap can be dealt with level-headedness. There is no last minute rush in case you are prepared with a box full of amenities that treats your wounds and no need to search around the house for a band-aid and basic antiseptic which stops the flow of blood at the basic stage.  Now , for sure most people have been given a basic first aid training but what most people forget are the rules below mentioned which eases out the search party even in case a box is already prepared. Most people tend to keep things all together and at the last minute cannot see the thing one needs beneath the plethora of amenities being stuffed in the first aid box.

First and foremost is check the expiry date of all the medicines as they come with a shelf life where the first aid box is for a lifetime. What we forget is that we keep the unused medicines for longer period of time which should have been disposed off after their expiry date is passes and should be replaced with fresh ones.  This needs a time to time check make sure one follows the rules.

With most medical equipment, the instruction manual says store in a dark, cool and dry place. If you have read the point one then you know that there is a shelf life of every medicine and the shelf life goes down if a medicine or apparatus is kept in humid place and away from the reach of direct sunlight. Do not store first aid boxes in bathroom as there is a natural moisturizer present which hampers medicinal equipment.

There are different medicines for different ailments, so make sure that you use separate and appropriate containers for different medicines:  Also do not forget to make sure that the first-aid kit supplies are kept in large, water proof and non-breakable containers which ensure a longer shelf life.

Last but not the least share the knowledge about what is kept where in the first aid box with your family members as well as employees in the workplace. Basic First Aid box training to should also be given to everybody and it is essential that each family member knows where the first aid box is kept. Most importantly the first aid box should be kept in vicinity.

Emergency Do’s and Don’ts

feverFever. The most basic medication that doctors suggest in Fever is Paracetamol but it might not suit some people. So it is advisable to know if any of your blood relative have an allergy to a particular medicine. While traveling you need to ensure that if somebody from the family or fellow traveler catches cold or fever  then you need to keep tracking his temperature. Just ensure that the person is kept warm all the time as this will help in lowering down temperature sooner.

burnBurn. Getting a burn is another one of those emergencies wherein the first aid help matters most and if one of your known person has just got blaze the first thing to do is put that part of the body under a cold running water tap for a few minutes which reduces down the blisters and then apply any sort of lotion or an anti-burn cream. Do not let the burn dry as this will increase the amount of time the skin is healed and would leave marks on the skin. Dab the burnt area and don’t wipe it in any condition and if you don’t have burnout or any burn healing ointment with you then you can treat it with egg or honey.

Keeping safe in any condition is necessity and First aid training can help save your loves ones relieving you from the unwanted stress and hypertension in basic wounds situations.
