As we become older, our body capabilities become weak which degrade our sustainable power and weak our immune system to withstand the physical changes. Though, maintaining the body is difficult at old stages, but proper preventions and care can actually keep the body away from several diseases. No doubt, healthy diet is vital for health, but older people are not always able to maintain a balanced diet which is why they have to face several substantial changes in their body. Lack of vitamins and nutrition can actually cause a diverse health related deficiencies in old people. Several researches and studies show that old people are more susceptible to heart diseases, diabetes, hearing loss and other bodily changes. Below are some most common health related issues and diseases that affect seniors.
Memory Loss:
Memory loss is one of the common health deficiencies that affect almost all of the elderly. It is natural to experience some form of memory loss at old stages. As we age, our brain loses its senses and our sensory system takes long time to recall the things. The brain loses its sharpness at this time and we donât have the same memory level we had when we were younger. It becomes difficult for elder citizens to learn new things, or find or identify familiar objects because of the lack of memory. Certain emotional problems such as sadness, loneliness, and boredom cause serious memory problems which can lead confusion and forgetfulness.
Heart failure:
Today most of the elderly people have to face serious heart related problems due to unbalanced diet and irregular lifestyle. Sometimes these heart diseases become the main cause of their demise. In order to keep our body functioning, the oxygen should be properly circulated through blood vessels and our heart is the main source of blood which aid in important biological processes. It is natural to have heart ailments at old stages as our heart grows weak with time making our body susceptible to heart diseases. Brain Cancer or tumors:

Brain tumor or cancer is one of the common types of brain disease in which the cells inside the brain begin to grow uncontrollably. A tumor in the brain can be harmful and cause brain stop functioning. A tumor grows very rapidly which can put pressure on crucial areas. Though, brain tumor can occur at any stage, but generally old people are more susceptible to this because of lower functioning of sensory cells. Brain cancer is dangerous and life-threatening and sometimes it can be the main cause of fatality.
Hearing loss:
Hearing is also one of the major health issues which affect elderly people. As we age, our auditory system becomes weak causing our inner ear stop working. In all of the five senses, ears are one of the most susceptible parts of the human body which becomes feeble during old stages. From the past few years hearing loss in elderly has increased on a rapid pace. Though, hearing loss affect many people of different age groups, bur elderly are more susceptible to hearing loss. Hearing loss is something that every elderly has to face in his or her life whether it is permanent or temporary. Though, there is no such permanent cure of hearing loss, but a balanced diet, regular exercising practices, wearing hearing aids, practicing hearing test regularly and avoiding loud noise can contribute to the prevention of both permanent and temporary loss of hearing.
In this way, having these physical changes are common while we age. The body becomes more and more fragile due to these mental and physical adoptions. No person can literally stay young permanently because our body has to face several physical changes and deficiencies as we age. Of course, our body acquires several health related issues at old stages, but there is a lot more we can do to live a healthy, happy life as we age.
